Silvio Tagliagambe was fatally wounded in a May 9, 1922, gunfight in lower Manhattan. While some have considered him merely a bystander, accidentally caught up in an exchange of bullets between a group loyal to boss of bosses Salvatore D'Aquila and a rival faction led by Giuseppe Masseria, the truth is that Tagliagambe was an active participant.
